Pregnancy can be an exciting time in your life. It’s the one time where you get pampered, showered with a lot of attention, and are allowed to rest all day. While it’s great to laze around, eat, get all the attention, and sleep, it can get boring to do so for nine whole months. Let’s be honest — pregnancy can get pretty boring because you cannot do many things you used to do before to keep yourself busy. For example, you cannot drink (get drunk *wink wink*) on the weekdays or do any adventure sports as it could pose a high risk to your health and your baby’s. Therefore, you have to be careful about the activities you take part in. You might think that your options are limited, but that’s where we come in! Here are ten exciting activities that you do in the comfort of your home during pregnancy:
1. Read A Book
All you bookworms, pregnancy is a great time to catch up on some relaxed reading. No, we don’t mean the pregnancy books that you’ve been reading over and over again (JK). Those are important too! But, you can devote some time to reading those books on your TBR that you never could before — it’s the perfect time!
2. Documentary Binge
There are tons of documentaries on pregnancy, birthing, postpartum, and even the birthing industry. Do some research and add some of them to your watchlist. You could spend your time watching some of these powerful and informative documentaries that will help you make an informed decision regarding your delivery.
3. Postpartum Preparation
If you’re in your third trimester, it’s time to start planning for your postpartum days. Once you’re home with your newborn, you probably won’t have any time to get stuff done anyway. Plus, you’ll be in recovery mode, which will make the process even harder. Therefore, stock up on baby essentials and other things you’ll need during postpartum.
4. Freezer Cook
Speaking of preparing for postpartum, you could also prepare some food for the recovery period: energy bars, lactation bars, and even smoothie starter packs are great options. Freeze them, and you don’t have to worry too much about food for the first six weeks after childbirth, when things will be chaotic.
5. Make Padsicles
Padsicles are helpful for women who experience tearing or trauma during childbirth. They are frozen postpartum pads soaked with healing ingredients, used for pain relief and healing after delivery. It could be a lifesaver because it helps women in postpartum recover from swelling, lacerations, stitches, hemorrhoids, and bruising.
6. Practice Yoga

Practicing yoga during pregnancy (in the presence of a trained professional, of course) can help you relax. It prepares your muscles for childbirth and makes it easier to recover after delivery. 7. Call/Video Call A Friend
It’s a great time to catch up with your long-lost friend. Schedule a call with your friend and spend some time with them. At the end of it, you’ll probably be feeling excellent. You could also bring your friends together and have a group video call with some fun activities. Playing childhood board games like Ludo, Snakes, Ladders, etc., are a bonding activity too.
8. Pamper Yourself
Yes, you’re probably getting pampered at home with your favorite food and great massages. But you could make an appointment to get a mani-pedi done and relax while you enjoy some TLC! Lucky!
9. Organize Your Cupboards
Your cupboards, drawers, desks, and wardrobes may need some organizing now that you’re going to have an additional member join your family. Reorganize your closet and make space for new clothes and accessories that you’ll need as a new mom. Get rid of old clothes or any items that you probably do not use. A good rule to follow is to get rid of things you haven’t used in the last six months or more. You’ll also make room for the new stuff you’ll get your hands on.
10. Maintain A Pregnancy Journal
You could start a pregnancy journal and maintain one throughout those nine magical months. It would be great to look back at this after years have passed by. You could also create a scrapbook for when your baby arrives. That way, every precious memory with your baby can be documented in this book, at least until your baby is one year old.
There are tons of things you can do to keep yourself entertained during your pregnancy. Apart from the activities mentioned above, you could also sing, organize movie nights, game nights, get a maternity photo shoot done, and even decorate the baby’s room.
